This vintage cowichan sweater was made in the 60s and comes in nice light cream color. Cowichan sweaters are named for the Cowichan people of Vancouver Island who originated the style. The traditionally hand knit sweaters gained traction in the 1950s and imitation designs became popular with yarn supply stores selling patterns mimicking the design. This sweater features buffalo portraits on the front and back, with little buffalo heads decorating the bottom, cuffs, and shoulders. The sweater has two hand pockets, a talon zipper closure, and a shawl neck. The heavy wool material makes this sweater great for the outdoors and it also comes flannel lined for extra warmth and comfort.
Fits like a modern unisex adult medium. There is a spot on the cuff, see pics.
