This cool, vintage tee commemorates the 1986 July 4th celebrations in New York City and the 100 year anniversary of the Statue of Liberty. The tee features a graphic of a tall ship above three semaphore flags from the system of international maritime signal flags, and the flags spell out NYC.

In honor of the 1986 Independence Day and the centennial of the Statue of Liberty, New York City hosted a four-day celebration called Liberty Weekend. The festivities kicked off on the 3rd with remarks from President Ronald Reagan and musical performances by Neil Diamond and Frank Sinatra. The main event of the weekend was on July 4th when the city hosted Operation Sail, a six hour parade of tall ships in New York Harbor. It was the largest gathering of sailed ships since the 19th century when these boats were commonplace. In addition to the breathtaking ships, there were an estimated 30,000 smaller crafts such as sailboats, ferries, tugboats, kayaks, and canoes. The nautical parade was followed by a large fireworks display which was, at the time, the largest in the country's history and lasted a total of 28 minutes.

Fits like a modern unisex adult medium.
