This rad graphic tee commemorates the 1992 Olympic Basketball team from Lithuania, who were sponsored by American jam band, the Grateful Dead. This tee is the same style that the team wore when accepting their bronze medals on the Olympic podiums. This shirt commemorates an interesting tidbit of sports history that's about cheering on the underdogs and celebrating a newly freed nation.

Lithuania had only recently become sovereign again, after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, and this was their first time in decades competing on the world stage under their flag. Lithuania had a strong basketball team but they were strapped for cash. A sports writer wrote a piece about the underdog team for the San Francisco Chronicle where the Grateful Dead's PR manager saw it and passed it on to Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, and the other members of the band. They were so charmed by the team's story that they cut them a check that funded their trip to the Olympics and sent them these tie-dye tees in Lithuania's national colors.

Fits like a modern unisex adult extra large. Shirt is signed on the front next to the graphic, see pics.
