This sweet t-shirt promotes the Pirates of the Caribbean ride in Disney World. The franchise started in 1967 when Walt Disney created the theme park ride based off of pirate legends, folk tales, and novels by Emilio Salgari. The attraction in DisneyLand was one of the last theme rides that Walt Disney himself had a hand in designing, although he did not live to see the same attractions open in Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris. The ride tells the story of a band of pirates surviving on the West Indies in the Caribbean Sea, during the 17th and 18th centuries.

The dark park ride quickly became a fan favorite of park goers at all of the locations. The ride holds 630,000 gallons of water, 75 audio-animatronic pirates and villagers and 53 audio-animatronic animals and birds. In the 1990s, the ride received many renovations, most of them being adjustments to the rides scenes. The purpose was to soften the violence and themes. The Pirates of the Caribbean films, created off of the ride, have become one of the highest grossing franchises of all time, accumulating over 4.5 billion dollars worldwide.
