This amazing tee is a piece of original promotional merch from the 1994 black comedy, Serial Mom. Written and directed by the Pope of Trash himself, John Waters, Serial Mom starred Kathleen Turner as a murderous suburban housewife. The movie also featured Ricki Lake, Sam Waterson, and Matthew Lillard in his first feature film role. There were also appearances by frequent Waters collaborators like Traci Lords, Mink Stole, Mary Vivian Pearce, George Figgs, and Van Smith.

Initially known for his campy exploitation films like Pink Flamingos and Female Trouble, Waters' movies began to gradually grow more mainstream after the release of Polyester in 1981. Despite this, his films still retained Waters' signature brand of twisted humor, and Serial Mom was no exception. Before the role of Beverly Sutphin was given to Turner, there were a number of other acclaimed actresses that were also considered for the part. This included stars like Meryl Streep, Kathy Bates, Glenn Close, and even Julie Andrews. According to Waters, one major deciding factor came down to some of the potential actresses asking if the script could be changed to make Beverly less malevolent, something that Waters was not willing to budge on.
