This cool vintage band tee is for the English post-punk group Killing Joke and the shirt features the same graphic as the one used on the front of their 1989 live album The Courtauld Talks. This live album was unique, as it was essentially a spoken word album that featured a recording of the group's frontman Jaz Coleman giving a lecture at London's Courtauld Institute. The album contains no music save for some subtle acoustic accompaniment provided by guitarist Geordie Walker and session musician Jeff Scantlebury, which was used as backing during the lecture. Coleman's talk centers primarily on the thought behind the band's 1988 album Outside the Gate, and he takes the time to explain the music's connections to gematria and the occult.

Outside the Gate was a controversial album that alienated fans with its complex instrumentation and stylistic departure from their previously guitar prominent sound. The album wasn't even released in the United States and the band didn't play any gigs to promote it. The resulting poor album sales caused their record label, Virgin to drop them, causing a period of turmoil for the band, but they emerged in 1990 with new material that utilized the frustration they were feeling at the time. Their album Extremities, Dirt, and Various Repressed Emotions was praised by critics for recapturing the harsh industrial sounds that fans had missed on the previous release.
