This white vintage tee is a protest shirt supporting the 1987 NFL Players strike and it says "Support National Football League Players". A 24-day long players strike was called after Week 2 of the 1987 NFL season. The players wanted the right to free agency, better pension benefits, severance, and to eliminate artificial turf and refused to play in order to make their demands known.

Replacement players were brought in, in their absence, although about 15% of professional players also chose to cross the picket line. The replacement players consisted mostly of those that had been put out of work by the recent folding of the Canadian Football League and the dissolution of the United States Football League. Attendance during the games featuring the replacement players plummeted, but unfortunately not enough. The loss in attendance wasn't significant enough to encourage managers to meet the players' demands, and eventually the union voted to end the strike after Week 6.

The tag says extra large but this shirt fits like a modern unisex adult large
