This cozy Champion sweatshirt is from the Atlanta 1996 Olympic games. This was also known as the Centennial Olympics, as it took place 100 years after the first modern Olympics in Athens, Greece. There were 217 events in 26 sports in the games, including for the first time softball, beach volleyball, and mountain biking.
These games had a few memorable moments. Arguably the most memorable was when American gymnast Kerri Strug vaulted with an injured ankle, landed on one foot and still won the gold! Also the American swimmer Amy Van Dyken, became the first American women to win four gold medals in one Olympiad.
