This humorous vintage tee pays tribute to one of America's favorite dysfunctional families, the Bundys from the sitcom Married... with Children. The shirt shows the Bundy clan sitting down to watch some TV only for their patriarch, Al to remark, "Gee Peg, what is this Yuppiesomething?" The comment is supposed to be mockingly referencing another television series that was airing during that time period, Thirtysomething, a drama series broadcast by ABC. Married... with Children aired on Fox for eleven seasons, and during that time it wasn't uncommon for the show's writers to take shots at series from competing networks.

Married... with Children set itself apart by choosing to portray the antithesis of the picture perfect American sitcom family. The Bundys were comically crude and a breath of fresh air compared to wholesome formulaic shows like Family Ties and Growing Pains. Ed O'Neil portrayed Al Bundy, a shoe salesman with a bad attitude and even worse luck, while Katey Sagal portrayed his lazy, antagonistic wife. Their two children Bud and Kelly, played by David Faustino and Christina Applegate respectively, were just as conniving and dim-witted as their parents, and the result was a hilariously raunchy sitcom centering around a set of characters that hadn't been represented much on American television before. Married.. with Children helped Fox to establish itself as a risk-taking network, and it lead to more out-of-the-box shows like Cops, The Simpsons, and In Living Color.
