This awesome shirt is a 90s original that celebrates the seminal grunge band, Nirvana. This shirt was made in the late 90s, after the group had already disbanded, but before they were temporarily barred from releasing any additional material. Nirvana was founded in Washington in 1987, and they would eventually become one of the most influential bands of the late 20th century. The group was integral to the alternative rock movement of the 90s, and they became a surprise success with their hit single "Smells Like Teen Spirit". From there, they reached international success with their album Nevermind, which featured popular tracks like "In Bloom", "Lithium", and "Come as You Are".

The group's popularity continued with the release of their highly anticipated third album, In Utero, but their career was cut short following the tragic suicide of frontman, Kurt Cobain. Although the band was no more, they continued to receive acclaim as they released the live albums MTV Unplugged in New York and From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah. There were plans to continue the band's legacy with more releases, that would be overseen by the remaining band members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic, as well as Cobain's widow, Courtney Love. However the three came into conflict, and it wasn't until 2002 that another album was finally issued.
