This fun vintage tee comes from the 1989 John Newman Basketball Camp. The camp was a youth basketball camp run by former NBA player Johnny Newman who played sixteen seasons for various professional teams, including the Cleveland Cavaliers, New York Knicks, Charlotte Hornets, New Jersey Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, Denver Nuggets, and Dallas Mavericks before retiring from the NBA in 2002. the back of the shirt bears an advertisement for the brand Pony which reads, "Built to win". Pony is a brand of athletic shoes which was founded in 1972 in New York and has been worn by such athletes as Tracy Austen, Reggie Jackson, and Spud Webb.
