This vintage tee dates back to the 1980s with very unique history. It's an original keepsake from the Yokosuka Country Music Festival in Japan. Features a soft cotton blend, old school graphics, and a classic ringer style.

American country music and western pop culture began permeating Japan during the American occupation in the Cold War circa 1950s. This gave birth to a very special and rare subculture of Japanese country bands, like the Singing Riders, the Wagon Masters, and The Cannonballs. Tomi Fujiyama has even had the honor of performing at the esteemed Grand Ole Opry.

These Japanese musicians honed their English skills and showcased their love for country music by performing for American troops. They draw inspirations from legendary acts- like Hank Williams, cowboy boots, 10-gallon hats, and the twang of guitars.

The legacy of Japanese cowboys may be an obscure one but it does continue to live on in the hearts of die hard fans, their classic country songs, and amazing collectibles like this vintage t-shirt.

Fits like a modern unisex adult small. This shirt is light blue. Paint spot on the back sleeve, see pics. Double-sided print.
