This awesome vintage band shirt is for the English heavy metal band Black Sabbath. The shirt is licensed 1977, and features graphics from the cover of their seventh studio album Technical Ecstasy. It's likely this shirt was from the band's subsequent 1977 European tour, promoting the album.

The album art featured on this shirt was created by the London-based design group Hipgnosis, who created art for a number of bands throughout the 70s. Perhaps one of their most recognizable images is the prism reflecting light used for the cover of Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon.

Technical Ecstasy was one of the last albums to feature Black Sabbath's original lead singer, the iconic Ozzy Osbourne. Osbourne actually abruptly quit the group a the end of their 1977 tour, but he later returned to record their follow up Never Say Die!. That wound of be the last Black Sabbath album featuring Ozzy on vocals until 13 in 2013. Technical Ecstasy wasn't as commercially or critically successful as past Black Sabbath albums, but it did contain the song "Dirty Women", which has endured as a beloved set list staple for the band for many decades.

While the band has had its highs and lows, they've still managed to sell over 70 million records over the course of almost four decades, making them one of the most commercially successful heavy metal bands of all time. Along with Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin, they are considered part of the unholy trilogy of British hard rock bands from the mid-70s, and this shirt is an original from one of their most prolific decades.

Fits like a modern unisex adult small. There are small runs on the front, see pics.
