This sweet vintage shirt advertises the popular chocolate candy bar Butterfinger with a graphic of Bart Simpson from the animated sitcom The Simpsons, created by Matt Groening. For a long period of time Bart Simpson served as the mascot for this delicious candy. Beginning in 1988, 150 commercials were produced that featured the Simpsons characters. Most of these commercials depicted Homer trying and failing to steal his son's Butterfinger, after which Bart would utter the slogan, "Nobody better lay a finger on my Butterfinger!" This slogan was later changed in 1999 to "Bite My Butterfinger!"

The Simpsons first appeared in shorts featured on the Tracey Ullman Show before they earned their own animated series in 1989. Since then, they have become the longest running American sitcom in terms of number of episodes. These classic Butterfinger commercials have often been featured on DVDs of the series as bonus features.
