This awesome 70s rock t-shirt is for Jefferson Starship's debut album Dragon Fly. The album was released in 1974 by Grunt Records. Jefferson Starship was formed out of the 1960s psychedelic rock band Jefferson Airplane. During the early 70s the popularity of Jefferson Airplane started to decline, and the final album credited to the band before their dissolution was Long John Silver. Following this release there were several albums created that were focused around the partnership of Paul Kantner and Grace Slick. One of these was Baron von Tollbooth & the Chrome Nun. Kantner used the line up from this album to form a touring band, which became Jefferson Starship.
Dragon Fly peaked at the number eleven spot on the Billboard 200. It was certified Gold by the RIAA and featured the single "Ride the Tiger". For the song "Caroline" Kanter collaborated with Marty Balin who had not appeared on a Jefferson Airplane or Airplane off-shoot album since Volunteers was released back in 1969. Balin officially joined Jefferson Starship after the release of their second album Red Octopus in 1975.
