This sweet tee was made to promote the New York River Otter Project. This project was started by the New York Department of Environmental Conservation in the late 90s in an effort to reintroduce river otters to parts of the state. Most otters were captured in the Adirondacks or the Catskills and released across Western New York. From 1995-2000, nearly 280 otters were redistributed into areas that had previously been devoid of this native species. Thanks to this project, river otters are much more common throughout the entire state of New York.
