This vintage concert tee is for the band Hootie and the Blowfish from their Small Talk Johnson Tour which was to help promote their 1996 album Fairweather Johnson. This was the group's second studio album and it debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. Prior to this the group received the "Best New Artist Award" at the 1996 Grammy Awards and they appeared on MTV's Unplugged on the eve of the release. Singles from the album included "Old Man & Me", "Tucker's Town", and "Sad Caper". None of the songs charted however, and most of the album's success was thanks to their debut release Cracked Rear View.

Cracked Rear View was the best-selling album of 1995 and one of the fastest selling debut albums of all time. The album featured the band's defining hits, which all made it onto the Top 40. They included "Hold My Hand", "Let Her Cry", "Only Wanna Be With You", and "Time". Hootie and the Blowfish continued to release music throughout the late 90s, including a self-titled album, Musical Chairs, and Looking for Lucky. None of them garnered much attention, but the band did have a radio hit with the song "I Go Blind", which was released on the soundtrack for the sitcom Friends.
