This sweet band tee is from Robyn Hitchcock, a British singer-songwriter and guitarist, and his band, the Egyptians. The graphic on this tee is a black and white, four way mirrored image of Hitchcock and his guitar. Robyn Hitchcock got his start in the late 70s with his band, the Soft Boys. Their music was heavily influenced by Bob Dylan, the English folk music revival of the 60s and 70s, and psychedelic rock. Robyn Hitchcock and the Soft Boys were not received well by the music press in the UK, although their second album Underwater Moonlight had a huge influence on early American alt rock bands like R.E.M..

Hitchcock made some solo music but found more success in the 80s with his second band, The Egyptians, which consisted of former Soft Boys Andy Metcalfe and Morris Windsor. Together, they recorded six studio albums, four of which were released in the 80s. Their third album, Globe of Frogs, peaked at 111 on the US Billboard 200, which was the highest position any of the groups' albums reached. Globe of Frogs included the college radio hit "Balloon Man" which was originally written for The Bangles. The album art, as well as the art for several of his subsequent albums, was done by Hitchcock himself. Hitchcock was a surrealist style painter as well as an author of short stories. He's been known to incorporate storytelling into his live shoes to contribute to a sense of whimsy and surrealism.
