This vintage ringer celebrates the United States Bicentennial, and more specifically it commemorates the festivities that took place in Montclair, New Jersey. Throughout 1976, the entire nation held various events to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. While there were a collection of national celebrations, local communities like the township of Montclair also found various ways to commemorate the occasion. Parades and street fairs were held in conjunction with essay contests and school pageants, all in honor of the birth of America.
