This amazing t-shirt dates all the way back to the 1974 New York City Marathon, which was only the 5th edition of the famous road race. This was the before the race course was altered in honor of the US bicentennial, after which the course was permanently changed to include all five New York boroughs. In 1974, the marathon was sponsored by Olympic Airways, and this shirt features their logos on both the front and the back.

Along with the Boston and Chicago marathons, the New York City Marathon is considered one of the most prominent long-distance running events held in the US. The race is organized by the non-profit New York Road Runners, and each year it attracts such a large number of interested runners that participation has to be chosen through a lottery system. Surprisingly, 1974 wound up being the only year in which the race was won by two New York City residents: Norbert Sander and Kathrine Switzer.

The tag says medium but this shirt fits like a modern unisex adult small. There are two small pin holes on the front, see pics.
