This shirt is an homage to the great Dave Winfield. Winfield had a 22 year long run in the MLB and played on 6 different teams. Arguably at his peak in the 80s with the New York Yankees, he was on the team for 9 seasons. This shirt highlights his number 31, which he also wore on his first MLB team, the Padres, who retired the jersey in 2001.

Dave Winfield is well known for the feud over his contract with Yankees owner George Steinbrenner. Winfield is also known for his philanthropy and is believed to be the first active professional athlete to set up a charitable foundation, which he aptly named the Winfield Foundation.
