Numerous celebrities took part including Brooke Shields, Liza Minnelli, future President Bill Clinton, and President Ronald Regan. HAA went on to raise about $15 million which was donated to local charities in combating hunger, homelessness, poverty. The amazing legacy of Hands Across America continues to live on through millions of participants, pop culture references like in the 2019 psychological horror film 'Us', directed by Jordan Peele, and awesome memorabilia and collectibles like this vintage tee.
