This cool shirt is from a hot rod event hosted by Goodguys Rod & Custom Association, called Hot Rod Happenin'. This event took place at the Pomona Raceway in 1998. The Goodguys are a group of hot rod enthusiasts who host incredible shows across the United States. Founded in 1983 by Gary Meador, they pride themselves on being the largest hot rod association with more than 70 thousand active members globally.

The Pomona Raceway was created similarly by a group of car enthusiasts. Back in 1952 a car club "Choppers of Pomona," teamed up with a couple police officers, who wanted to make drag racing safer. They were able to convince the government of Pomona to let them use the parking lot for the LA County Fairgrounds. The very next year the first official NHRA event took place at the raceway.
