This short sleeved sweatshirt was made back in the 70s and features a graphic of a Getty gas pump. The Getty Oil Company was named after its founder J. Paul Getty, who started the company back in the 1940s. Getty was eventually sold in the 1980s, but Gordon Getty, who had inherited the business, made a dramatic move when he sold the company to Texaco, after originally promising it to Pennzoil. This actually led to the largest civil verdict in US history, as Pennzoil took Texaco to court and was awarded $10.53 billion because of the broken agreement with Getty.
