This sweet vintage pullover features a graphic of Disneyland Star Tours, a Star Wars themed attraction in Disney's Anaheim, California theme park. The sweatshirt features graphics of Star Wars characters C-3PO and R2D2 as well as the infamous Death Star.
Star Tours opened in Disneyland in 1987. It was located in the Tomorrowland section of the park which is home to numerous attractions that are inspired by the future. It was a motion simulator attraction that brought guests on an adventure to the Forest Moon of Endor, which is the location of the final battle in Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. The waiting area for the ride was designed to look like a spaceship boarding terminal with posters advertising other locations and animatronic characters, including C-3PO and R2D2. This was the first ride in Disneyland to be based on non-Disney property, although Disney would eventually acquire the rights to the Star Wars franchise.
In 2010, the ride was closed and eventually replaced by Star Tours-The Adventures Continue which introduced an updated ride system, HD video, and new special effects. The replacement ride is also set earlier on in the Star Wars time line, sometime between Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope. Before closing the original Star Tours ride, Disney hosted the "Last Tour To Endor" featuring a guest appearance by George Lucas, a Death Star Disco, and a fireworks show.
Fits like a modern unisex adult small.
