The bright red shirt features the team's logo on the front and is copyright 1993, the same year that the River Rats were conceived. The American Hockey League team was created from the Capital District Islanders, after the team moved from the campus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to the recently built Knickerbocker Arena. The stadium, which was home to the River Rats until their termination in 2010, was later renamed the Times Union Center. From the mid to late 90s, the River Rats made several playoff appearances and also took home the Calder Cup in 1995.
