This awesome vintage tee is from the 70s and it features an iron on graphic of the Boston-based rock band The Cars. The group emerged out of the new wave scene born during the late 70s and this shirt showcases the album art for their debut self-titled record, that was released in 1978 off Elektra Records. The album resulted in several of the band's most popular hits including "Just What I Needed", "My Best Friend's Girl", and "Good Times Roll".

When the Cars first emerged on the scene they were immediately praised for their blend of guitar oriented rock and synthesizer heavy pop sounds, and they were named the Best New Artist by Rolling Stone's 1978 reader's poll. Their debut album alone managed to sell six million copies, and their success continued into the 80s. The band released four top ten hits throughout the decade, "Shake It Up", "You Might Think", "Drive", and "Tonight She Comes". The music video for "You Might Think" also earned the band the Video of the Year Award at the 1984 MTV Video Music Awards. The band disbanded in 1988, but they reunited in 2010 and then again in 2018, when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
