This sweet vintage tee celebrates the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. During the 80s, the race was a part of the CART championship series for open-wheel racing. It's since become a part of the IndyCar Series and holds the prestigious distinction of being one of the longest running events in open wheel racing in the world.
The Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach takes drivers through the streets of the SoCal city on a circuit that's a little under 2 miles long. When all is said and done, finishers will have driven nearly 170 miles around Long Beach. American drivers dominated the race during the late 80s and early 90s, with American drivers winning every race but one between 1984-1996. Among these drivers were Mario Andretti and Al Unser Jr., the former holding the Grand Prix record for most races won with 6 wins total.
