This awesome vintage rock tee is for the band Metallica for their 1996 tour. The double-sided shirt features a sweet cartoon image of the band which is signed by the artist Chavez. The tour came around the time of the release of the group's album Load. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and sold 680,000 during its first week, making it the biggest opening week for the band. The album included the singles "Until It Sleeps", "Hero of the Day", "Mama Said" and "King Nothing". The unique cover art for the album was created by Andres Serrano who pressed a mixture of his own semen and blood between two plexiglass plates to create the image.
The release marked a change in the band's musical direction and image, which was reflected by them cutting their long hair. The band also wrote so much material for Load that the following year they released the remaining songs on the album Reload. The same year as the 1996 tour, Metallica headlined the Lollapalooza music festival.
Fits like a modern unisex adult medium. There are several holes, see pics.
