This cool heathered ringer was made back in the 70s for the European disco band, Ritz, and the shirt commemorates the release of their 1979 single "Locomotion". The single was a cover of the 1962 pop song "The Loco-Motion", which was originally recorded by Eva Boyd, better known by her stage name Little Eva. The song has been covered multiple times since its release, with one of the most notable versions being performed by Kylie Minogue in the late 80s. Minogue later performed a live arrangement of the song on tour, that was based on the Ritz recording.
Ritz was a trio act composed of Kofi Missah, Ruby James, and Tony Jackson. Their version of the song was included on their single studio album, Puttin' On The Ritz, and their iteration managed to become a number one hit in New Zealand.
