This vintage raglan kid's tee features an iron-on graphic celebrating the beloved Steven Spielberg film E.T. The Extra Terrestrial. The concept of E.T. was loosely based around Spielberg's childhood memories of coping with his parents' divorce. As a child, Spielberg had an imaginary alien friend and he had been inspired to tackle a semi autobiographical project for several years.

E.T. was brought to life using animatronics created by Academy Award winning special effects artist Carlo Rimbaldi, who earned another Academy Award for his work on E.T. The alien's voice was provided by the radio soap opera actress Pat Welsh. Her uniquely raspy voice was the result of the actress smoking two packs of cigarettes a day for several years.
