This awesome kid's tee promotes the 1991 live action Addams Family movie and it features the lovable albeit eerie butler of the Addams family clan, Lurch. The 1991 movie, which was directed by Barry Sonnefeld, who later went on to direct the Men in Black franchise, was the first feature length film to star the beloved creepy characters. The Addams Family was first conceived as a series of New Yorker comic strips drawn by Charles "Chas" Addams, who took inspiration for the family's aesthetic from the ornate and haunting Victorian architecture of his hometown of Westfield, New Jersey. In the film, Lurch is portrayed by Carel Struycken, a Dutch actor known for his unique appearance and impressive height. Struycken stands at 7 feet tall due to a growth disorder called acromegaly, and his towering stature made him the perfect candidate to play Lurch.
