This cool vintage college tee reps the University of California, Santa Cruz with a graphic of their unique school mascot, the Banana Slug. The Banana Slug has been the unofficial mascot of the university since its early years, but when the school joined the NCAA Division III in 1980, the school's chancellor at the time attempted to name the sea lion as the school's more dignified official mascot. The student body was reluctant to comply and by 1986 they got their wishes, with the slug taking its rightful place as the official mascot.

The unique college mascot isn't the only thing that makes this shirt worthwhile. A shirt of this same exact design was featured in the cinematic classic Pulp Fiction directed by Quentin Tarantino. The tee is worn by John Travolta's character Vic Vega for a portion of the film.
