This awesome football style jersey dates all the way back to the 1950s, making it more than half a century old. This jersey was made for the athletic department of Harding College, a private college in Searcy, Arkansas. This shirt actually dates back to a time when Harding College didn't have an intercollegiate football team, as the school disbanded all of its intercollegiate sports teams in the wake of the Great Depression. However, this didn't mean that the Harding campus was totally devoid of football.

There were still intramural flag football teams present at Harding during the mid 20th century, and in 1955 several intramural tackle football teams were also formed. It was the excitement for these intramural teams that eventually led to Harding reviving their intercollegiate team for the 1959 season.  

Tag says medium but this shirt fits like a modern unisex adult small. It looks like the sleeves have been hemmed, see pics.
