This awesome vintage shirt is a throwback to the television game show Remote Control, which used to air on MTV during the late 80s. The shirt features a graphic of the iconic MTV astronaut, which was used to represent the famous music television network.

First airing in 1987, Remote Control was the first non-musical program to be featured on the channel. The show was hosted by comedian Ken Ober with Colin Quinn serving as the announcer/Ober's sidekick, and the premise was that Ober so desperately wanted to be a game show host that he converted his basement into a television studio. This led to running gags like the show occasionally being interrupted by the disembodied voice of "Ken's Mother". Meanwhile the actual gameplay of the show revolved around three contestants answering trivia questions about pop culture.

In addition to Ober and Quinn, the show had several other cast members, as questions were sometimes presented in the form of small skits. Additional cast members included Roger Kabler, Denis Leary, and most notably Adam Sandler. In fact, Remote Control helped to launch the future Saturday Night Live star's comedy career.
