This sweet shirt honors the celebrated NFL quarterback Joe Montana, and it says "Kansas City Here I Come". This shirt was made late in Montana's career after he was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs, and it celebrates his much anticipated arrival to the team. For many years Montana had essentially served as the face of the San Francisco 49ers, and he had led the team to four Super Bowl victories. However, the star quarterback spent most of the 1991 and 1992 seasons on the bench due to injuries. This forced newcomer Steve Young to step in and prove his worth as a promising replacement.
After stepping in for the injured Montana, Young was reluctant to continue playing second string. Montana acknowledged the shift and requested to be traded. Kansas City fans then rejoiced as both he and Marcus Allen were signed onto the 1993 team. Together, the pair helped the Chiefs win their division for the first time in over twenty years.
