This artful vintage tee comes from singing group, The Manhattan Transfer on their 1980 World Tour. Formed by Tim Hauser in 1969, the group often performed in clubs in New York City. Their debut album was released by Atlantic Records in 1975 featuring famous jazz musicians like Randy Brecker, Jon Faddis, and Zoot Sims.

In 1981, they became the first group to win Grammy awards in the same year in both popular and jazz categories. Their second album released in 1985, Vocalese, received twelve Grammy nominations. At that time, it was second only to Michael Jackson's Thriller in a single album's nominations.

This fits like a modern unisex adult Extra Small. It is unworn.

This item is from the estate of Craig MacGregor, the bassist for the band Foghat in the 1970s, 80s, and again in the 2000’s.  The item was owned by Craig, a collector of t-shirts, and stored for some time in a basement before it came into our possession.  As a result there may be some lingering basement odor. All items are authentic pieces of rock and roll history and in many cases are one-of-a-kind.  Further authentication and chain-of-custody can be provided upon request.
