This awesome shirt celebrates the iconic English musician David Bowie, and it was made around the time the artist released his album Outside. Described by some as a concept album, Outside involved experimental recording sessions, spoken word, and a nonlinear narrative involving a murder investigation. The resulting record was a blend of several different genres, which included industrial rock, jazz, art rock, and electronica.
During the mid 90s, when Outside was released, Bowie was making prominent use of electronic instruments. The album also saw the musician reunite with Brian Eno, who he had worked with in the 70s. Originally there hadn't been plans for Bowie to launch a promotional tour for Outside, as he felt it would be too ambitious of an endeavor. After some pressure from Virgin Records, the album did receive a tour, and fans were surprised when Bowie chose the up-and-coming industrial band Nine Inch Nails as his opener.
