This sweet double-sided sweatshirt features a graphic of the beloved cartoon character Popeye the Sailor Man sporting a sweet hip hop inspired outfit. This was a popular trend in the 90s, tees emblazoned with cartoon characters decked out in hip hop fashion. A lot of the most common examples from the decade featured Looney Tunes characters, but other properties from Disney to Garfield also cashed in on the trend as well.
Popeye first appeared in a comic strip called Thimble Theatre all the way back in 1929. Popeye, along with other Thimble Theatre characters, was adapted into a popular 1930s cartoon thanks to animator Max Fleischer, and the character has continued to appear in multiple comic books, television series, and advertisements over the years. Popeye was even given a live action adaptation in 1980, where the sailor was played by the late, great comedian Robin Williams.
Fits like a modern unisex adult extra large. Thee is a stain on the back of the sleeve, see pics.
