The Navy has a long history of goat mascots and in 1916 they were searching for the perfect goat. They placed an ad in the Annapolis newspaper: "WANTED: the meanest and fiercest goat possible...Would like to see same before purchasing."From this ad they got Bill VI the fiercest goat alive.
