This rare shirt features a jump wings stencil design with "Paratrooper" and "Fort Bragg, N.C." in red, and is from the 1940s! Home of the 82nd Airborne, Ft Bragg is known for Paratrooper training, and this was the base that the main support Paratroopers that participated in the Normandy Invasion were stationed and trained. This shirt is either from late World War 2 or just after the war, and before the Korean conflict.
Fort Bragg is one of the largest military installations in the world, and during World War II its population reached 67,000. In addition to the 82nd Airborne Division, several other units such as the 9th Infantry Division, 2nd Armored Division, and 100th Infantry Division all trained there.Following the war, the 82nd Airborne Division was stationed there permanently and remained the only large division there for some time. Fort Bragg became a center for unconventional warfare during the early 1950s and the Psychological Warfare Center was created there in 1952.
Fits like a modern unisex adult small. Design is stenciled on. There is a small flaw, see pics.
