This awesome ringer was made for the Diet Pepsi 10,000 Meter Series. This collection of road races was sponsored by Pepsi Co. and held in multiple cities across the nation throughout the 70s and 80s. Also known as the Pepsi Challenge, the series was started in 1977 and many consider it to have been the first major national running series founded in the US.
Interested runners could contact the nearest Pepsi bottler to get the details for any local races in their area. Racers who finished at the top of their age groups could then participate in the Pepsi Challenge Regionals, and the regional winners were then invited to compete in the Pepsi Challenge National Championship, which took place each year in New York.
Fits like a modern unisex adult medium. There's some light discoloration on the back, see pics.
