However, the draft was still at the forefront of many people's minds, especially in the wake of the Vietnam War, when the draft was a major point of contention among Americans. In 1980, President Carter reinstated the requirement to register for the Selective Service System, and this sweatshirt offers a humorous response to that Presidential Proclamation.
