This sweet concert tee proudly supports the British pop rock group Fine Young Cannibals, and it commemorates the band's 1986 North American Tour. This tour was launched just a year after the group released their self-titled debut album, which peaked at the number eleven spot on the UK charts.
FYC was formed in 1984 by David Steele and Andy Cox, who had both been a part of the influential new wave band The Beat, sometimes referred to as The English Beat. Fine Young Cannibals' debut release is often remembered for the singles"Johnny Come Home", and a cover of the Elvis classic "Suspicious Minds".
FYC initially had difficultly landing a recording contract, but their luck changed after their video for "Johnny Come Home" was played on the show The Tube. Both of the singles from their 1985 debut became international hits, and they were invited to make a cameo appearance as the house band in the Richard Dreyfuss and Danny DeVito comedy Tin Men. They also contributed several songs to the film's soundtrack, including the number one hit "Good Thing".
