This awesome vintage shirt is for the animated television series Gargoyles that was produced by Walt Disney Television Animation. The front of the shirt shows off the logo for the series while the back includes the tag line "The night will never be the same". The series centered around a group of enchanted gargoyles residing in New York City. During the day they were simple petrified statues, while at night they came to life to protect the city. The series was notable for its distinctly dark tone and complex story arcs that set it apart from most other animated shows. Story lines for the series also drew inspiration from Shakespeare, particularly MacBeth and A Midsummer's Night's Dream, as well as medieval Scottish history.

The show aired for three seasons with a total of 78 episodes, and it had a talented voice cast featuring Keith David, who is best known for his portrayal of Child's in the cult classic horror film The Thing, Jeff Bennett who also provided the voice of Johnny Bravo, Bill Fagerbakke, who is famous for voicing Patrick Star on Spongebob, Lou Grant star, Ed Asner, and the wildly prolific voice actor Frank Welker who is best known for voicing Fred Jones in the Scooby Doo Franchise.  
 
The show is remembered fondly by its fans, and even sparked its own convention. The Gathering of the Gargoyles was a fan convention dedicated to the show that ran from 1997 to 2009. Some of the recurring events at the convention included a radio play and a masquerade ball.
