This awesome vintage tee features a graphic of the title characters of the comic book series Grendel, which was originally created by Matt Wagner back in the early 80s. Grendel was the masked identity given to the author Hunter Rose as he worked as an assassin. The character first appeared in the 1982 anthology Comico Primer and he was later given his own series which was also published by Comico and ran from 1986 to 1990.
The Grendel comics originally embraced a noir style reminiscent of European titles like Diabolik. Over time the series was eventually moved over to Dark Horse Comics, and in 2021 it was announced that there were plans to adapt the character for television. Netflix released a statement that they were looking to create a television series with Andrew Dabb, who spent many years as a writer and executive producer for the series Supernatural, acting as the showrunner.
