Disneyland first opened back in 1955 in Anaheim, California, and its construction was overseen by Walt Disney himself. During the 70s, the park introduced new attractions like the beloved Main Street Electrical Parade and the roller coaster Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Disney also opened a second park, the Disney World Resort Complex in Florida during the 70s, although it took some time for the new park to catch up to Disneyland's immense popularity.
