This incredible tee comes in a sealed package from the late 80s, and features an integral member of the X-Men, Colossus. This Russian mutant first appeared in Giant-Size X-Men #1 in 1975, and he has remained a fairly consistent member of the superhero team ever since. The character has also appeared in various Marvel films, that include X-Men, X-Men: The Last Stand, and Deadpool.
This shirt features an image of the hero drawn by Rick Leonardi, and this graphic was made for Uncanny X-Men #231. This comic was part of the prologue to a company-wide crossover storyline from Marvel called "Inferno". This story centered around a demonic invasion that led to the transformation of Colossus' sister, Illyana Rasputin into the Darkchylde.
Uncanny X-Men #231 was released amidst Chris Claremont's era of the series, and alongside Louise Simonson, he served as the driving force behind the "Inferno" storyline. Claremont was largely responsible for making the X-Men one of Marvel's most popular properties, and in addition to "Inferno" he wrote iconic storlylines like " The Dark Phoenix Saga" and "Days of Future Past".
