80s Wolverine Marvel Comics New Packaged t-shirt Extra Large

This incredible tee features Wolverine, an iconic Marvel superhero and a core member of the X-Men superhero team. A grizzled loner with adamantium claws and regenerative healing capabilities, Wolverine emerged as a favorite among Marvel fans in the 80s. Amidst the cynicism that followed the Vietnam War, comics fans felt drawn to brooding antiheroes like Wolverine, and this popularity granted the character his own solo comic series in 1988.
Before that, most fans got their Wolverine fix by reading Uncanny X-Men. The graphic featured on this tee is from Uncanny X-Men #212 which featured an epic battle between Wolverine and Sabretooth. This comic was written during Chris Claremont's sixteen year stint writing for Uncanny X-Men, and Claremont was also the one to create Sabretooth, a ruthless villain who was eventually developed into the archenemy of Wolverine. The illustration featured here was part of some awesome interior art drawn by Rick Leonardi, a Marvel artist who also did work for DC and Dark Horse.
