This awesome graphic tee pays homage to the former Formula 1 racing team, Hesketh Racing. It features the team's mascot, a teddy bear wearing a racing helmet with a Union Jack on it. Hesketh only existed for a few years during the 70s but they've gone down in Formula 1 history as legends. The team was founded by English Lord Hesketh who was simply looking for a fun time. When he was 18 years old, a girl sent him a postcard with a teddy bear on it. He then drew a rough draft of the team's future mascot and, suddenly, Hesketh decided he wanted to get into automotive racing. He brought on driver James Hunt and the team entered their first race, the South African Grand Prix, in 1974.
Hesketh Racing had a reputation for being the playboys of Formula 1. The team often operated out of Hesketh's 162-foot yacht and when they didn't, the team was known to rent luxury hotel rooms for them and their traveling band of beautiful young women. Hesketh broke out champagne and partied after every race, no matter the results. At one point, Hesketh specially made a patch for Hunt's driving suit that said, "Sex-The Breakfast of Champions," which is a good example of how the team approached the sport. Regardless of their partying lifestyle, Hesketh Racing performed relatively well. Hunt won the 1975 Dutch Grand Prix and the team placed fourth in that year's World Constructor's Championship.
